Alan commenced making wine at Burnbrae Winery in Mudgee in 1996. Here with the assistance of great winemakers David Robertson and Barry Platt he learned the importance of good fruit and a good palate. These skills have been tested by time and Alan’s wines have won many awards in the prestigious Mudgee
Wine Show.

After selling Burnbrae in 2005 Alan setup a small boutique winery at Leaning Oak, the best fruit is purchased from our neighbouring vineyards, this fruit combined with Alan’s winemaking talent has created some interesting Mudgee varietal wines.

Among our current releases is the award winning Shiraz, you can also enjoy our Semillon, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Liqueur Muscat.

Boutique Wine Range:

Semillon: This aged Semillon shows honeyed characteristics on the palate, has soft acid and is a good food wine.

Chardonnay: This wine had great fruit so was only lightly oaked the resulting wine has fresh fruit flavour balanced by the gentle oak flavours of vanilla.

Merlot: This is a relatively big wine for a Merlot it has a great colour and will cellar well.

Shiraz: Silver Medal winner our Shiraz is very typical of good Mudgee Shiraz strong fruit, good tannin and a light peppery finish.
